KVS & NVS Recruitment 2025-26 — 14,967 Teaching & Non-Teaching Posts

Written Test Details: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) | Total 100 marks | Duration: 2 hours | Available in English and Hindi. Question Distribution: 80 marks on Subject Knowledge (relevant to your subject discipline) | 20 marks on Pedagogy (teaching methodology and child development) | Negative marking: 0.25 marks per incorrect answer.

PRT recruitment is typically based on merit list prepared from marks obtained in Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by respective states. KVS/NVS considers TET marks and conducts interviews. Some states conduct specific KVS-PRT entrance tests. Check the detailed notification for your specific state's procedure.

Salary varies by position: PRT starts at ₹9,300 + Grade Pay ₹4,600 | TGT starts at ₹9,300 + Grade Pay ₹4,800 | PGT starts at ₹9,300 + Grade Pay ₹5,000. All amounts are as per 7th Pay Commission. Additional benefits: DA (Dearness Allowance) linked to inflation, HRA as per location, medical allowance, pension scheme, leave encashment, and gratuity on retirement.

During application, you can mention up to 5 preferred posting locations. However, final posting depends on: (1) Organization's requirement, (2) Your merit position, (3) Subject availability in your preferred location, (4) Pan-India needs of KVS/NVS network. All-India posting is applicable; transfers are allowed after 5 years of service.

Must carry original documents at interview: (1) Bachelor's/Master's degree certificate, (2) B.Ed or D.El.Ed certificate, (3) Mark sheets of all qualifications, (4) Caste certificate (SC/ST candidates), (5) Physical disability certificate (PWD candidates), (6) Valid photo ID (Aadhar/PAN/Passport), (7) Document verification checklist filled and signed.

For Principal position in KVS/NVS: Master's degree required + B.Ed + minimum 8-10 years of teaching experience in a recognized school. No age limit relaxation typically provided. Selection is based on teaching experience, academic background, administrative capabilities, and interview performance.

Final merit list is prepared on combined performance: Written Test Score (80%) + Interview Score (20%). Candidates are ranked category-wise (General, OBC, SC, ST). Merit list is prepared separately for each post category (PRT, TGT, PGT, etc.). Candidates will be notified through registered email and SMS about results.

Written test admit cards are expected to be released in early February 2026 in online portal. Check your registered email ID and registered mobile for notifications. Download the admit card from official KVS website. Admit card will contain: exam date, time, center location, roll number, and important instructions to be followed during the exam.
