Apprentices typically work 8 hours per day, 5-6 days per week at RCF. Total apprenticeship commitment is 2,500 working hours over 12 months. Sunday and one weekly holiday are provided.

RCF provides limited hostel facilities on sharing basis (subject to availability). Most apprentices prefer to find local accommodation near Kapurthala. Food facilities: Subsidized canteen available at factory where apprentices can take lunch. No mess arrangements; apprentices manage their own meals. Transportation allowance may be provided.
